Woahhh. Tis Christmas! Already!....straight up...

Time for excessive food and drink then.

Kaskade with Rebecca & Fiona - Turn It Down (Le Castle Vania remix)

Bingo Players - Rattle

A-Trak & Zinc - Stingray (Benga remix)

Q.
How exactly did i miss this first time round? I feel ashamed....

Monarchy - You don't want to dance with me (Ft. Britt Love)

Q.
No excuses for these, sorry. Just some tracks ive been listening to.

Enjoy.

Niki And The Dove - The drummer (Fake Blood Remix)

Fabian - Last Flight

The Whip - Keep or delete

plus this.

Miami Horror - Holidays (Miami Horror & Cassian Remix)

and something a bit noisier.

Congorock - Ivory *this is one of the most ridiculous songs of the year! congorock is a bad bad man..... ;)

Q.

Songs that remind me of other songs

Listening to Foster the people a lot lately.

Filled the 'cool indie disco band' gap nicely havent they?
'Call It What You Want' is one of their stand out tracks, catchy, fun and infectious as badger aids. However, more importantly, it reminds me massively of The Virgins 'Rich Girls'. Which in turn, reminds me not of the Castlevania remix, but of the awesome The Shoes remix of 'Teen Lovers' from a few years back (featuring a young Sky Ferriera btw.)

Random. But leads to good songs....

The Virgins - Teen Lovers (The Shoes Remix Ft. Sky Ferriera)

Next

Another track, this time more on the pop side of things. In as much as its a complete abomination of music as we know it. But neverthless, T-pains new track sampling Lily Allen ' reminds me of another track from a few years back by t-pain. Which again, in turn, reminds me of an awesome little remix that smashes the original. Dont know anything about 'Gods Of Fashion' but this remix is pure houesy vibes! go see.

T-Pain Ft. Lil Wayne - I Can't Belive It (Gods Of Fashion Remix)

brb.

Q.

Higher and Higher

Ok, been a while, for various reasons. Back with a few tracks tho.

Like most things, blogging is temperamental.

Cubic Zirconia - Take Me High (Bart B More remix) *Everything Bart b more does has bounce to it. Yet another awesome remix, love it.

Rogerseventytwo - Take Me Higher
*Disco goodness

two more big tracks that i failed to post up. til now.

Dada Life - Happy Violence *turns out, it works with vocals

Diplo & Oliver Twizt - Go (Peace Treaty Remix) *absolutely smashes the original. Massive track

Normal service will resume soon.... probs.

Q.
Bloggers fav Sunday Girl is getting a bit of mainstream attention of late.

Deservedly so. See why.....

Sunday Girl - Love U More (RAC Remix)

Martin Solveig - Lets not play games Ft. Sunday Girl

Q.
When this lot get together, only awesomeness can happen.

And so, it has.

Yuksek - Always on the run (Peter and The Magician remix)

Q.
This is HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Also, crookers have done mazingly well to keep this new record from leaking.... annoyingly for us.

Q.
Really liking this RAC remix of Gigamesh. Obviously reminds me hugely of Filthy Dukes/Kill em all stuff. Nice synthy disco house......ness.

Gigamesh - When You're Dancing (RAC Remix)

Plus a preview of this little gem track. Makes it feel like summer again.....

Jonas Rathsman - Tobago

Q.
Massively annoyed that its completely impossible for me to get to London tonight, for Justice's free album launch party.

Alas. There will be other times. Although im really interested to see how the play out 'Audio, Video, Disco'. I don't think its strong enough to tour as they did with '', so they could change it up for the live shows. Either way, keep posted for the forthcoming vids.

For now,

Justice - Audio, Video, Disco (Para One Remix)

Q.

Not the greatest vid for such an awesome track.
A lot of people are posting up the John Dahlback remix of Sneaky Sound Systems latest single 'Big'. Which is good, but i prefer this by the duo who keep smashing out some great disco fuelled remixes.

Sneaky Sound System - Big (Oliver Remix)

Q.

DCUP

DCUP keeps em coming with another nice bit of disco housey goodness.

So Called Friend - Near impossible (ft. Marc Deal DCUP Edit)

Q.
Gotta get this out of the way. I don't usually post up commercial mainstream stuff, but this track is too huge. In my eyes, mainstream hiphop n rnb have been messing about with dubby sounds for a while, but only until recently has it actually been working. Jay z & Kanye's project, B.o.B's new stuff and this.

Labrinth, the guy who makes Tinie Tempah sound good.

Labrinth - Earthquake

There, i said it.

Q
Love this track. So thought i'd share.

If theres anyone with sweeter vocals than Lykke Li, they can only be angels, and should be worshipped as such.

Kleerup - Until we bleed Ft. Lykke Li

Q.
Again, one of the sounds of the summer, skipped past without posting up, til now.

SBTRKT - Pharoahs

Gotta stop depressing myself by posting up tracks of the summer, which is well n truly out. There's usually an explosion of good new stuff come october, as everyone finally stops touring and gets back in the studio to finish that loop theyve been messing with over the summer.... keep posted.

Q.

HOUSE ME, AGAIN.

Another bit of deep houseyness for yous. Its been floating around all summer, played to death in ibiza and the festivals, but again not posted for some reason or another. Sits perfect in any house set, another track of the (my) summer.

Julio Bashmore - Battle For Middle You

Q.

HOUSE ME

Think im gonna end up posting up a few bad ass house tracks that have been floating around most of the summer, but that ive never got round to before.

This, was really annoying to get hold of. Found it eventually, not the greatest quality and i will be grabbing a 320 the next time i can/remember. However, its still good.

Don't be put off by these 8-9 minute housey numbers, go with em and be rewarded. Theyve been making crowds go nuts over the summer. memorieeeeesss....

Eleven Eleven - Tourist Trap (Jamie Jones remix)

Q.

I follow rivers

This is delayed due to the tragic death of Mehdi. Bestival memories are tinged with that sadness now. Still in shock at how random life can be.

But there were highs last weekend, so we must continue.

There was a couple of big tunes this year that, pretty much, got played in every house set going. Joe Goddards 'Gabriel' was one but this monster stood out the most.

I kinda missed it first time round. I mean, ive had the track, listened to it a few times, but never really properly. The genius of it really stands out when its played in a good house set, which the likes of Andy n Jaymo and Tensnake (and countless others) did.

Dangerously addictive.

Lykke Li - I follow rivers (The Magician Remix)

Q.

R. I. P DJ Mehdi

A great Dj has died at the age of just 34.

I didnt know him personally or ever meet him. I'll respectfully leave the heart felt messages of sadness, to all of his friends and family that knew him well and will miss him so.

How i did know him though, was through his music. I urge anyone who may read this who is unfamiliar, to listen to as much of his stuff as possible and realise what a loss this truly is. He was an integral part of the Ed Banger label's sound and direction. Crossing and creating genres until this very day, under the 'Carte Blanche' super team, alongside Henry Riton.

Probably his most well known track, this single video comes nowhere close to summing up his library of genre blending music.

He will be missed by all.

Mehdi Favéris-Essadi 1977 - 2011

Q.

Justice are back

AND THEN IT HAPPENED

Q.

Dada Life

Been listening to this. A lot.

Big room, big tune.

Dada Life - Happy Violence

Q.

Only just caught on to this and really not sure what to make of it.

Its far too happy for my liking.............. catchy tho.

The Magician

Oh dear. Looks like far too many have beaten me to this already. Oh well. I try.

Much hyped over the last few months 'The Magician' releases his first single proper Ft. Jeppe.

Personally, im not overly impressed. Its a good track, i mean, its disco house with a solid piano riff throughout, so, i'm gonna like it whatever. Love the vocals too, probably more cuz they remind me of Classixx - I'll get you, which i played endlessly. This aint in that league by a long shot, but its addictive. Kinda like a very good Penguin Prison remix. Its good, but it just feels like it should be better.

Anyway. More please.

The Magician - I don't know what to do

Q.

Shake Aletti Remix

Nice little disco fueled remix from His Majesty Andre, to accompany the release of Shake Aletti's 'Inside Out'.

Moda come strong again.

Singles out now.

Shake Aletti - Inside Out (His Majesty Andre Remix)

Q.
Stumbled across this a few weeks back and forgot how awesome it was.

Sharing is caring.

Prince - Purple Rain (Chew Fu Ft. Steve Clisby cover)

Q.

Riton

Awesome new track from Riton for yous.

Seeing him soon at bestival, along with is brother from another mother, Mehdi, in their 'Carte Blanche' guise.

The title is apt. This is dark, driving, evil house music. Kinda addictive. More please.

Riton - Dark Place

Q.

Villa Nah

Ya know when theres that one track you just can't get enough of, so you end up listening to it over n over n over, until it it fills every aspect of your mind, every second of every day its constantly replaying in your head, filtering into your dreams, so its there when u sleep and there first thing when you wake.....it becomes, inescapable. Until it gets a bit boring like.

Well, here's a track like that.

Villa Nah - Running On

Q.
Think this single is gonna take off.

For one, Marina looks hott in a blonde wig. Two, arguably more importantly, this is a great pop song. Chuckie nails the production and Marina, as you know, has the voice, style and substance to go with.

Really like this Starsmith remix too. Apparently it didnt make the cut. I guess we'll have to wait n see what did, but judging by this, they should be pretty damn good........

Marina and the Diamonds - Radioactive (Starsmith Rework) by Starsmith

Q.

AAHHH. im back.

Who cares where ive been or why. Not me.

And so,

who are these Fixers?! Totally missed the jump on these, but i can at least join in the hype.

Love the original, this remix has more dubby vibes...

Fixers - Swimmhaus Johannesburg (Beat Connection Remix)

Also, this track happened recently... its insane, the vocal breakdown and then the second drop is pure heat. cant get enough.

More soon.. (promise;)

Q.

shut for summer

seriously tho, probs be posting again in july, hopefully with some kinda new site.

Q.

LOUD NOISES

Time for some noise.

This time in the form of some jackin-fidget-electro-jump up house music. At least, if that was a genre, these would be in it...

probably.

Barletta - Wake Up
(128)

Kissy Sell Out - Homesick (Botnek Remix) *Kissy's 'Wild Romance' is out now people! go get it

Save the best til last ;)

Jaymo & Andy George - Tension

Q.

Pnau Cassian remix

Quite like this, but can't wait to get my hands on the original and the next album.

Pnau - Solid Ground (Cassian Remix)

Q.

new calvin harris vid

Say what you will about Calvin Harris, but he's a great producer that makes great tracks. If he leans towards the pop market, so be it. All it means is we get to hear it on the radio.

Not one for video reviews, but hey, why not.

So, obviously immediately recognised the guy in it from MSTRKRFTs 'Heartbreaker' and it looks and feels the same with the whole camera position, style and lense etc. The director, Vincent Haycock has a vimeo channel, so go check that out for a couple of minutes of visual entertainment.

I like this video. I especially like the little bit where he dances through the kelis set. Its a nice touch.
For a while now theres been two parallel worlds. With the music world and the blog/fashion world, running alongside each other, feeding off each other. Thats why you get sexy 'it' girls like Bebe Zeva in your videos (and slightly weird men like AJ English)

Its like style needs its soundtrack and the music needs its imagery. Either way, its all rolled up into one music/fashion/cultural ball of blogosphere that we all like the taste of. And videos like this nod towards that. Which pleases me.

that is all.

Q.
And now, for something different.

I'm not one for posting my all time favorite artists up, just because, they are. But the mood strikes me today. So i will.

Rob Dougan, the australian born electronic/orchestral/genre-bending producer makes some of the best music i have ever heard. His album, Furious Angels, is now over 10 years old and although theres been whispers of a new record for some time, rumours have it that he's bought a vineyard in france and music is no longer a priority. Which, i hope and pray, is not the case. I havent found an album equal to that since. Its not pop music, but its great music.

Anyway, if you havent heard of him already i urge you to go and buy 'Furious Angels'. It will change music for you.... Here's just a tiny snippet of what he can do.

Rob Dougan - One And The Same (Coda)

Q.

Hey, You!

Yeah, you! Tom Staar! you crazy little scamp! Not sure why this has erupted from your mind 3 years after the pop record of the summer, but i promise you, no one will complain.

Maybe he only only just got round to finishing it, or lost it, or is waiting for the many other remixes to go away first. Or, maybe, its just to accompany a little remix compilation thats coming out soon. Whatever the reason, its gonna be blasted out of my lo-rider for many months to come........

Pony Pony Run Run - Hey You (Tom Staar Remix)

The original was pure summer in a pop record, this is pure summer, in a dance track.

Tom and Moda continue to grow and will soon own us all. Maybe. But you could go to a show and see for yourself.

(btw this is a low bitrate version, as are all my tracks...ahem..)

(side note, is it still acceptable to post links to myspace?)

(Also, I dont' really have a lo rider, but i promise to play it loud from my big noisy land rover ;)

Q.
Depressed Buttons - Folding Protein (Reset! Remix)

Q.

andy & jaymo

i know im late on this, but, uh, yh. sorry moda crew. better late than never......

Jaymo & Andy George - Night Music EP Preview by Jaymo & Andy George
So, another lazy post, just a few good tracks im listening to.

Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar (Zinc Remix)

Rusko - Everyday (Netsky Remix)

Uffie - Wordy Rappinghood (Tom Tom Club Cover) *This has been getting a lot of stick on the blogs, but i likes it. Quirky.

Klaxons - Echoes (Designer Drugs Remix)

Q.
Sorry for the lack of apparent posts of late. The DMCA has been overly harsh on me in deleting a few recent posts.

The fight back starts now.

(also, ive been really busy and a bit lazy. apologies.)

posted the awesome bag raiders remix of this agggeees ago. Now they, finally, have a nice shiny vid to go with.

Q.

Dillon Francis

Want some sparkly dubstep?

Yes, sparkly. The most appropriate word for this monster from Dillon Francis.

Dillon Francis - Beautician

This next song is a trick! although maybe a bit sparkly too? either way, it lures u into a nice, playful housey track, before blowing your ears off with some ridiculous beats. I like.

sparkle sparkle.

Beataucue - Disque Oh! (High Rankin Remix)

Q.

Alpines and Skream

Skream does his usual stuff to a fairly decent indie pop track. Same old, same old.....

nah, i like Skream. I like this track and love the vid.

Alpines - Drive (Skream Remix)

(also, apologies for the lack of recent posts. Unlike Skream, i lack consistency....But this is MY music blog, not a ...uhm.....a, lets post up 20 songs a day blog ... ....)

Q.

WOODKID

Thankyou Green United Music for this one.

Weird, epic video which i like, but i'm just not too sure about the original (or the remix). But its interesting. And thats all that matters.....probably.

Woodkid - Iron (Gucci Vump Remix)

Q.

Oh Land Remix

Some more alterna-pop for you. And the much hyped Oh Land.

I know there's a popular Yuksek remix going round, but i like this much more, from the also hyped duo, Savage Skulls. (check the 'Bad Gal' video on the right >>>>)

Oh Land - Sun Of A Gun (Savage Skulls Remix)

Q.

Here's the original

Here's the remix

Crystal Fighters - At Home (Pony Pony Run Run Remix)

Q.

Friday bangggger

I heard a snippet of this last night on Chuckie's 'In new dj's we trust' radio 1 show (which is great btw). And it was big. So i sought it.

And now i share it.....

Just an old fashioned, electro-techno 'bouncy' track. SONIC BOOM. ahem...

Peace Treaty Ft. Kissed With a Noise - Cal State Anthem (Cold Blank Remix)

Q.

An unrelated sidenote, but an important one. Its good to hear Ben, frontman of the brilliant Fenech Soler, is doing well after being diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago. They've just announced their rescheduled UK tour dates, so click HERE for all that info and to keep updated.

Obviously we wish him welland can't wait to see him at their future dates.
also, this.

BOOM

I Won't Let Go (Bag Raiders remix) by Monarchy
Next up some more dubsteppy dancey type stuff.......... and a mahoosive remix from Loadstar. A duo signed to Ram Records thats worth keeping an eye on.

Breakage Ft. Jess Mills - Fighting Fire (Loadstar Remix)

Annnnnnd as a bonus, a full... ahem, 'preview' of Nero's next single.

Nero - Guilt Ft. Alana

Q.

Electronic disco moves

Right then.

Two post ups a comin. Both with some new(ish) dance music that hopefully isnt on your radar......yet.

Firstly. Two tracks with an electro disco housey vibe.

Shinichi Osawa - Love Will Guide You Ft. Tommie Sunshine *love this track. crazy fun times....

Miami Horror - Make You Mine (Codebreaker Remix)

Q.

New Friendly Fires!

I like it. Nothing spectacular, but builds hype for the album and it'll be great to see them at the festivals again.

Q.

New SebastiAn!

Its been a lonnnng time coming.......

Don't need to say anything about this. Its SebastiAn.

So Me however! well, jk, its just a little duller than his usual stuff. Still works, but kinda hoping for something ridiculous to accompany a fresh release from the electronic serbian..... maybe saving a little something for Justice? ......

Q.

Justice - Civilisation

ok. im late on this, but literally only just sat at a computer and i can't not post it up.

Even if its an ad.

Its Still Justice and Romain Gavras and those two together, simply do not not miss.

Also, from what we can take from this, its very encouraging to see Justice are not shying away from their usual audible epicness...

If it didn't begin as soon as they finished their first, the hype for their second album, begins now.

Q.
Like this lots. Not quite as much as the original but def more than mr AVH's attempt.

Don't usually like lazy dubstep remixes, but this just seems to work.............

Bag Raiders - Sunlight (Spinstyles remix)

Q.
Robyn was supposed to play tonight at Bristol 02 (with support act FENECH SOLER!!!) .. but it was cancelled.

We were gonna do promo work and perhaps, maybe even jump ben and his bro ;) but whatever...

Robyn - Dancehall Queen (Diplo Remix)

Killedthehype.
Two nice tracks for you from two great house producers.

Reset! gets better and better. If you like awesome french house made by Italians, click here

RESET! - Sabrage *love this

You now know what a Siriusmo track sounds like. He's got his own sound and this track is a beautiful example of it.

Siriusmo - Idiologie (128 kbps)

Q
A lovely remix of a lovely song. Lovely.

Crystal Fighters - At Home (Kido Yoji Remix)

Q.
Annoyingly this track has been in my head all day......

Gyptian - Hold Yuh (Major Lazer Remix)

Q.

New Pnau vid!

Not like nick littlemore to do a weird music video.............

Q.
Purity Ring - Ungirthed

Q.
Filthy Dukes have a new ep out now on beatport. Go fetch music loverrrrrs.

I don't like picking out favourite songs. Songs are good in different ways at different times. However, if forced, this would probably make my top ten list of all time. So any excuse to post it up.....

Filthy Dukes - Nonsense In The Dark ft. Orlando Weeks

Q
Whilst everyone was at the brits last night, i (and a few hundred more) were at the Bristol leg of nme awards. So there.....

A good night, but i was pretty underwhelmed by The Vaccines, i expected more rowdiness from the ramones'esque punk-alternarocker(?) ers, but also something more...well....unique. Its a fine line between mimicking and paying homage, one im not sure they pull off. Overhyped for sure.

Everything Everything, as always, lived up to their hype. Tricky to pull off some of their songs live, with the ridiculous high notes n all, but they were great as ever.

Magnetic man, well, just weren't. I had my doubts whether the production trio would work as a live set and these were fully realised as they pretty much fell off my musical radar for the forseeable future. 3 standard producers messing about with their laptops over some lazy dubstep. Annoyingly, this pleased the majority of the crowd, but personally, im bored with it now. Skream, go away and come back with something relavant.

Finally, Crystal Castles, who despite Alices broken foot, still lived up to their riot inducing best. Seriously, Alice Glass is a phenomonen, who else does what she does? broken foot or not? Awesome, as ever.

And a track. Uh, i guess the first song i ever heard from Crystal Castles will do......

The Little Ones - Lovers Who Uncover (Crystal Castles Remix)
Back from my travels and its valentines day.

meh.

The Count & Sinden - Hold Me Ft. Katy B

Q.
Off to france for a week. This means blog silence, sorry. Not actually that sorry, go find some tracks on hypem, its only for a week ;) ....
What dya make of this? Sam La More latest creation, along with 'Groove Terminator', Tonite Only....

Q.
Bit of a muted return, compared with their more alterna-pop tracks that get lodged in your head. Still weird tho and still good.

Needs a remix from, say, someone like Treasure fingers? What dya reckon?

Q.

Modestep?

thats, Modestep? anyone?

Don't know what to make of this track. I actually quite like it. But it really is a dumbed down version of 'dubstep'. I want to criticise it, saying how obviously formulaic it is. How easy and lazy it is. How its just cashing in on this popstep bandwagon. How its not that much better than Britneys attempt.....

but, i won't. Its catchy as hell and a nice addition to the mainstream airwaves. Make of it what you will...

Modestep - Feel Good (edit)

(this won't stay up long, so apologies if its down already)

Q.

Friday Flux

Yer, its friday. Dubstep remixes then....

As ive often stated, Dubstep is dead. hmmm, kind of.. Commercialisation kills anything, too much, is always too much. I mean, it died a while back, but now Britney?! Britney Spears? The Britney 'hit me baby one more time, cuz im pregnant, have many drugs problems and have a slightly colder head than usual' Spears? releasing dubstep tracks?! thats the final nail, if ive ever seen one.... But anyway, it basically takes a decent 'Dubstep' track for me to care.

Flux Pavilion is one of those few producers that keeps making interesting music.

M.I.A - Internet Connection (Flux Pavilion 'Late Night Lag' Remix)

As a bonus....

Fenech Soler - Demons (Sigma Remix)

Q.

Pianos (are fun)

Chilly Gonzales has provoked this from me. Songs, with pianos in......

Yep.

I've kinda met Chilly Gonzales (Jason Beck). From that very brief encounter, and from what i can tell from everyone else who has, i think he's pretty much insane...Luckily, he's also a bit of a musical genius, which is a good combination.

Chilly Gonzales - You Can Dance (Gemini Club Remix)

MSTRKRFT - Heartbreaker Ft. John Legend (Laidback Luke Remix)

Eric Prydz - Pjanoo (High Contrast Remix)

Lo-Fi-Fink - Marchin In

Q.

Keep it in the family

So so happy that Pnau are back!

Sam La More, Nick's brother and co-producer on (i think) every Pnau album, has yet again fired off another Pnau remix. Of course i love it, but would still like to get my hands on the original.
Pnau seem to be taking a slightly different direction on this next record, but on the back of the EOTS success, hopefully, they will see it get more airplay this time around.

Anyway. I won't bore you with more indulgence.

Pnau - The Truth (Sam La More Remix)

Q.
Two door have a new vid.

I usually don't like it when a band release almost every track from their album, but when their album is this good, i can't really blame them. Its also probably got a lot to do with them 'cracking' america (and the rest of the world), which seems to be going well for them. Either way, im not complaining.

So, i know a lot of blogs have and will post this remix up. But its just too good not to do the same. Its a bit old in blog terms, but its just a bit mahoosive too. Turn it up loud, please.

Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know (Hot Mess Remix)

Q.
Why exactly this hasnt exploded onto hypem like, i dunno, the next track from some french dj duo, remains a mystery to me......

I loved it the first time i heard it.

Its too much for me to explain what 'The Bullitts' are. A collaboration of artists, musical and visual, names you know and that you will know. An album waiting in the wings. Its a hive mind of music.....

People. Jump on the hype, here - thebullitts.com

The Bullitts - Close Your Eyes Ft. Jay Electronica & Lucy Liu

Q.
